Civil Contractor

Layfield works with many civil contractors on many site development projects. Regularly provide construction materials such as geotextiles, geogrids, silt fence, erosion control, and other geosynthetics to civil contractors throughout our market area. We also provide subcontracted installation services for geomembranes and floating covers on all types of containments.

Our featured service for civil construction is our installation service for vertical wick drains. Prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs or wick drains) are punched into soft soils to provide drainage and to speed consolidation of foundations. This is especially important in bridge abutments and embankment construction. Wick drains can speed consolidation and help the contractor accelerate their construction schedule.

"We do appreciate you coming all this way to see us. We get other supplies just showing up and considering we have 50 construction people to supervise we don't have time for them. You did it right by setting it up in advance and letting us know your takeaways. This made for beneficial use of our time." Matthew, Civil & Commercial Construction Company
