Mine Development

The development of a new mine is often done in a remote location with minimal site resources. Layfield has the expertise to assist you in achieving key environmental controls for your remote mining sites. Standard items include secondary containment, stormwater run-off ponds, and silt and sediment controls. While building your infrastructures, you'll see items such as heap leach pads, laydown yards, and campsites or access roads.  We readily coordinate our material deliveries and lining installations with Arctic and remote site logistics, such as barge and air freight requirements.

Layfield has a full suite of materials for mine development. These include products to help you build heavy haul access roads, the development of site water and waste systems, storage ponds for process water or stormwater,  and tarpaulins for enclosure and weather protection. We also provide bird control covers or nets for solution ponds and many other specialty products for remote site construction.
