What is bar packaging?
The snacking industry is booming as more consumers are looking for convenient food that is ready-to-eat in a single serve portion to fit busy, on-the-go lifestyles. Snack foods in a bar form is highly desirable for its easy to hold shape and minimum packaging materials required. Bar packaging comes in a rollstock format that is fed into a flow wrapper or horizontal form fill seal (HFFS) machine. Layfield's high performance films run smoothly throughout the production flow - minimizing both bottlenecks and downtime.
Layfield offers both heat seal and cold seal rollstock to accommodate any horizontal flow wrap packaging line.
Choose from a variety of high performance films or customize your own. Your product will have maximum shelf appeal if printed with Layfield's state-of-the-art rotogravure (high-definition) printing press. This is the gold standard printing technology in packaging. You can further enhance your package with metalized films, environmentally friendly materials, recyclable materials and special coatings.
What is cold seal?
Cold seal utilizes a water-based, food-grade adhesive that only requires some pressure to seal instead of heat. This is to maintain product integrity and avoid heat damage to products that may melt or change shape during the packaging process such as chocolate and ice cream. Cold seal keeps the product protected yet it is easy to peel open.
