National Sales Manager- Distribution USA

Position Overview

The National Sales Manager -Distribution will lead the sales strategy and operations for our Geosynthetic products sales. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, managing a high-performing sales team, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Sales:

  • Create and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve company revenue targets and expand market presence.
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed sales goals. Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Analyze market/industry trends, economic indicators, competitor activities, and customers’ needs to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and vendors, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Prepare and present detailed sales reports to senior management, highlighting performance metrics, sales forecasts, and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor sales and margins and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate sales and customer service staffing levels are maintained across all key areas.

Supply Chain:

  • Aged Inventory Strategy Development: Lead the development of a comprehensive sales strategy to reduce the impact of aged inventory, including pricing adjustments, promotional efforts, bundled offers, and product reallocation.
  • Sales Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support the sales team in effectively driving initiatives that address aged inventory. Set performance goals, track progress, and provide coaching to meet and exceed targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to align sales efforts with business objectives, adjust inventory levels, and ensure a seamless flow of products to the right customers.
  • Customer Segmentation & Targeting: Analyze historical sales data to identify key customer segments and develop tailored sales approaches for aged inventory products. This may involve targeting specific industries, regions, or customer types that are more likely to engage with aged stock.
  • Promotions & Discount Programs: Design and oversee targeted promotional campaigns and discount programs to encourage the sale of slow-moving inventory. Ensure that promotions maintain profitability while achieving inventory clearance goals.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Utilize sales data and market trends to accurately forecast aged inventory sales, and prepare regular reports for senior management on progress, challenges, and strategies for improvement.

Special Events and Projects:

  • Manage participation in industry associations.
  • Manages Company participation in special events.
  • Develops strategy for corporate promotional activities.
  • Initiates plans for major capital projects including budgets and cost / benefit analysis.

Education & Experience

Degree in business – Major in Sales or Marketing.

Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of senior sales or marketing management experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Marketing and Sales management experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Excellent knowledge of managing sales for industrial products, services and systems.
  • Success in developing and coaching subordinates to higher levels and achieving goals.
  • Highly successful sales experience with national customers.
  • High degree of competence in written and oral communication.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Driven, self-starter with superb interpersonal skills.

 

Working Conditions

Role is office-based out of the Layfield USA Corp southern CA location in Lakeside, CA

Travel will be required 30% – 40%
