Position Description
Layfield is looking to add Plant Apprentice Technicians to our Fabrication team. The Plant Apprentice Technicians are key production personnel and are responsible for the proper set-up and operation of equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with basic hand tools, previous forklift experience and a wiliness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Maximizes quality, production levels and efficiencies pertaining to all geosynthetic fabrication activities.
- Correctly sets ups, operates, maintains and lubricates all equipment.
- Communicates with the Shift Lead Hand regarding deficiencies in both materials and equipment.
- Makes a positive contribution towards continuous improvement of teamwork and quality of work place objectives.
Quality Control & Assurance
- Ensure quality in production by following organizational standards and ISO9001-2015
Safety
- Understand, support, and adhere to the company’s health and safety policies, programs and procedures
- Attend and participate in safety meetings
- Complete risk assessment forms
- Report any equipment or building damage
Education & Experience
- Experience with basic hand tools
- Previous forklift experience would be an asset
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- WHMIS Certificate
