Each division maintains their own credentials. Environmental Systems maintains the credentials needed to design floating covers such as this defined sump cover at a water treatment plant near Denver.Layfield's divisions maintain important quality, safety and professional certifications that help to ensure the highest possible standards in all of our corporate endeavours.

All of Layfield's divisions operate on a quality business management system, developed utilizing ISO-9001:2008, the internationally recognized quality system standard.

Flexible Packaging

  • Layfield has elected to obtain certification to the American Institute of Baking (AIB) Consolidated Standards for Food-Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities.
     
  • The Packaging Association of Canada (PAC), has developed new PACsecure voluntary food packaging-specific safety standards designed to help packaging converters harmonize with the international protocol long used by the global food and beverage industry: Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).

  • Quality
    • In 2005 Layfield Plastics Inc. (USA) and Layfield Geosynthetics and Industrial Fabrics Ltd (Canada) completed the transition to an ISO 9001:2000 compliant quality management system. Both companies now maintain an ISO 9001:2008 compliant quality management system.
  • Safety
    • Layfield’s fabrication shops, in Edmonton, San Diego, and Toronto follow documented safety programs that include training, hazard identification, regular meetings, equipment maintenance, and periodic inspections. Layfield monitors its safety performance every month at our management meetings.

Environmental Containment

  • Safety
    • In the US, Layfield’s Safety program follows the requirements of the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA).
    • Layfield Environmental Systems Ltd. (Canada) carries a Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association for its registered safety program. This program is regularly audited for compliance. In 2008, Alberta Employment and Immigration awarded Layfield Environmental Systems Ltd. (Canada) with the Work Safe Alberta 2008 Best Safety Performer Award due to its exceptional performance in workplace health and safety. Layfield crew members hold First Aid, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, H2S Safety, and other certificates.
  • Quality
    • Layfield is an Approved Installation Contractor and has Certified Welding Technicians from the International Association of Geosynthetic Installers (IAGI).
