PROJECT SUMMARY
The Layfield technical team in British Columbia worked closely with the project owner to resolve a critical challenge with the landfill cover system, which had been causing odor concerns for
nearby residents. Throughout the project, Layfield provided end‑to‑end support, including design support, material selection, supply, and installation. The application required an exposed geomembrane, so the solution needed to deliver exceptional flexibility while maintaining durability, UV stability, and chemical resistance. The final installation met all performance requirements and successfully covered approximately 25,000 m² of landfill surface.
SOLUTION
Layfield worked with the owner’s engineer to build a customized cover designed specifically for the site’s demanding environmental and structural conditions. Central to the solution was the selection of Enviro Liner® 6040 Geomembrane, chosen for its outstanding chemical resistance and long‑term durability. This high‑performance material blends the benefits of LLDPE and HDPE resins, enhanced with an advanced stabilization package that delivers superior resilience, UV stability, and extended service life—making it ideal for challenging containment environments.
To ensure seamless project execution, Layfield provided comprehensive end‑to‑end support. This included material manufacturing, logistics coordination, and professional on‑site installation, all carried out with strict adherence to design specifications and project requirements.
