Avalon Bay Petroleum Vapor Barrier Membrane (313 KB)

Petroleum contaminated soils below the basement subgrade of this 27 story building required a petroleum vapor barrier and vapor extraction system to capture and extract the containments. The membrane barrier had to form a secure seal at the foundation perimeter, support columns, mechanical, electrical and plumbing penetrations.

Layfield designed and installed a petroleum compatible membrane in three phases allowing construction activities to continue on schedule. Flexible polypropylene batten bar was used to fit securely and seal the membrane to all structures.
