Turbidity and Baffle Curtain Products

Turbidity curtains prevent silt from construction sites from contaminating waterways. This site is in the high arctic. Layfield provides flexible curtains to accomplish two distinct results; control silt and sediment in water during construction and to direct the flow of water in water and wastewater treatment applications.

Turbidity curtains and floating silt curtains are used to control the release of silt from a construction site. The curtains float in the water and form a barrier to the silt. Different styles of turbidity curtains are available for specific applications and flow rates.

Fixed and floating baffle curtains are used to direct the flow of water to increase the residence time in a pond or reservoir. Fixed baffles are typically bolted to the inside of concrete water reservoirs while floating baffles are typically placed in wastewater treatment ponds. Layfield can assist you with the design and layout of your fixed or floating baffles. See the product pages for more details.
