Alberta Transportation has made it a priority to twin Highway 63. This is a major transportation corridor to the Oilsands projects in North Eastern Alberta.
Thompson Bros. Construction Ltd. had a short window to remove the trees, poor soil, place the geotextile and cover with proper fill. This project needed 551,000 m2 (10 Truckloads) of LP 8 non woven geotextile to be placed underneath the fill. The materials needed to be on site within 6 weeks of the initial order.

Layfield was able to ship the first truckload of LP 8 from the Edmonton warehouse. The additional material was shipped direct to site over the next 5 weeks.

This project was completed before the April 30, 2011 deadline
