Q: Can you tell us about your current role and responsibilities?
I am an Inside Sales Representative responsible for keeping track of projects in British Columbia, Yukon Territory, and Southern Alberta. My main responsibilities include data mining every day for new opportunities that meet the criteria for projects that fall under our scope of supply, being the first point of contact in reaching out for developing new accounts, being able to provide customer service solutions for any customers inquiring on products and applications and close collaborations with my team members to ensure we all work as a unit for maximum success.

Q: What do you like about our company culture?
Geosynthetics isn’t something that was brought to light for me during my post-secondary education; it was quite intimidating at first, jumping right into a new industry, but with the help and support of my local office team and team members across Canada, I was able to progress and become knowledgeable in this industry much faster than I would have thought! I have made many great relationships with colleagues and managers, and I wake up every day eager and excited to hit the office and sell, sell, sell!

Q: What do you love most about working in the geosynthetics industry?
I am fascinated with how innovative geosynthetic products are and their versatility in various applications. As someone who loves Mother Earth and the outdoors, I have a great appreciation for the environmental protection geosynthetics can provide, as well as for improving the longevity of many civil/commercial and residential structures, ultimately leading to a reduction in required construction in our local municipalities.

Q: Can you share a significant achievement or project you’ve worked on recently?
A cool part of my role is that I get to be involved in every job within my territories, whether I play a small or large part in that project. Last month, I came across my largest revenue opportunity to date – I find this significant because it gives me a new target to beat, and every time I achieve these targets, I get reassurance that I know I’m playing my part in my team to my full potential.

Q: What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work that people may not know about?
Other than enjoying long walks on the beach with a full-bodied glass of Cabernet Sauvignon in hand, I have always been an active guy. I have played lacrosse for 10 years and hockey for 14 years. Since hanging up the skates and sticks, I have become an avid golfer as well as the Roger Federer of my generation on the tennis courts. I am a dog dad to a wonderful Border Aussie (Australian Shepherd crossed with Border Collie) who is full of energy and always keeps me busy at home. My favourite genre of music is the Seattle-originated sounds of Grunge Rock, and I am Alice in Chains’ top listener on Spotify.
