Rivers, Lakes & Ocean Fisheries Markets

The protection of fisheries in rivers lakes and oceans can be assisted with the appropriate application of geosynthetic products. Layfield has a range of products that can be used in water to control silt and to help rehabilitate fish habitat.

Our featured products for fishery protection are our Aqua Dam temporary coffer dams and our turbidity curtains. Aqua Dams are water filled tubes that can isolate a river or shoreline to allow construction to take place without sediment loss. Aqua Dams are most commonly used for pipeline crossings of small streams and rivers or for water intake construction near a shoreline. Turbidity curtains are floating curtains that retain silt in a construction area. Turbidity curtains are used in shoreline construction or to contain silts in construction areas around piers, wharfs, or coffer dams.
