EnviroSlope® Wire Mesh Face
EnviroSlope® Wire Mesh Face is a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE or RSS) slope with a wire mesh facing that can be readily vegetated or used with granular facing stone.
Product Description
EnviroSlope® Wire Mesh Face is an economical system to create attractive vegetated reinforced soil slopes up to 70 degrees or Stone faced MSE walls up to 90 degrees. Several facing materials are used for these systems depending on the available material, aesthetics, and longevity required for the design. Typical Wire mesh panels (forms) backed with a turf reinforcement mat and UV resistant biaxial geogrid to retain the topsoil at the face. Alternatively, appropriate clear facing stone may be placed and retained by the wire mesh panel. The facing may be stepped back to create the appropriate batter or combined with a slope to create the desired face angle. The standard dimensions of a wire mesh panel section are 456mm x 3048mm (18” x 10’) measured on the slope. As per standard design methodology, Uniaxial geogrids are installed for retained soil and slope stability. Reinforced slope structures are usually constructed in areas to save space or the amount of fill required. Typically, the structure delivers advantages in the right of way and reduced space that could not be achieved with the slope of an unreinforced embankment. Applications include highway embankment construction, vegetated permanent steepened slopes, industrial applications, arch culvert end treatments, and many others.
