CCMC (Formally CGSB) Regulated Barriers

Vapour Barriers you can trust

CCMC (Formally CGSB) regulated vapor barriers prevent water vapor from escaping buildings, ultimately protecting homes. This potential leak of vapor can lead to wood rot and the formation of mold. These barriers play an important role in the fine establishment of a building and can save your project from expensive repair costs.

The CCMC developed general standards and requirements that need to be met when undergoing construction. We manufacture our film to attain the requirements of CCMC-51.34-M8. This means it must contain stabilizers and enhanced moisture protection guaranteed to last the lifetime of the building in construction. The 51.34 standard has specific requirements, both for the materials that are used to manufacture the poly and the physical properties of the final product.

WHAT MAKES OUR FILMS SO SPECIAL?

Printed with the CCMC (Formally CGSB) standard logo, our advanced PE films serve as an excellent internal barrier to keep the flow of moisture into an insulated building at a minimum. These vapor barriers can be used for various construction purposes, including buildings, walls, and ceilings, and they meet all construction code requirements.

Weather Resistance

Our films provide the ultimate protection against vapor, UV light, and other environmental substances. They are ideal for improved weather resistance in order to prevent unfavorable damage from prolonged exposure to these substances.

Labels & Sizing

All Layfield films come with pre-installed labels that allow for the easy identification of size and other technical specifications. These labels are applied to both the inside and outside of the sleeve. In addition to that, the film sizes can also be customized based on your particular needs.

Quality Virgin Blend

At Layfield, we manufacture our vapor barrier films with superior quality virgin LLDPE blends. This resin helps in making our films stronger and impermeable to external substances.

Additional Features

  • Longer oxidative induction time to protect against premature degradation.
  • Specially packed to block out any potential UV damage.
  • All pallets are overwrapped for an extra layer of protection.
  • Film is available in custom lengths and widths

Packaging Formats

VaporFlex™ is able to provide multi-layered construction for superior barrier protection against moisture, oxygen, odors, and puncture resistance, for construction and agricultural applications. Layfield can tailor your films to fit your application purposes, whether you are looking for under-building liners or vapor barriers, we can give you just the right film with just the right format!

This film can be modified into the exact shape and size you’d like it to be. Roll stock allows manufacturers to market multiple products at the same time. Additionally, it provides storage convenience for consumers compared to cans and cartons.

Our superior gravure printing technology makes it possible to deliver roll stock film with an extremely brisk turnaround. This material additionally uses less energy and hence produces less waste than traditional printing methods.

Why choose roll stock?

  • Can be made into any shape, including a pouch or bag
  • Offers superior product protection
  • Requires less inventory floor space

Leading The Scene To Keep It Green

Sustainability, particularly in terms of regulatory and consumer concerns, around packaging waste, is bringing rise to powerful trends across numerous industries, particularly construction. In return, manufacturers are proactively coming up with sustainable products in order to help consumers attain their sustainability goals while also meeting theirs.

How2Recycle® is a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates package recycling options.

Layfield offers a diverse portfolio of recyclable packaging options; however, through our How2Recycle® membership, we’ve made recycling easier for your customers with the use of the store drop-off program across North America. Get our prequalified store drop-off recyclable packaging for your pet products and give your brand a sustainable, competitive edge.

What How2Recycle® can do for you:

  • Provides consumers with a sustainable solution
  • Contributes to the circular economy
  • Widely available across North America
  • Ability to recycle packages that are not collected with curbside pickup

PCR material is made from recycled plastic, which is then processed into resin that can be used to make new packaging. This gives the packaging a second life and reduces plastic waste.

Join us on our sustainable journey and help reduce your environmental footprint with our PCR plastic and sustainable innovations.

Benefits?

  • Less wasteful than new plastic
  • Reduces waste production
  • Same characteristics as regular plastics.

Technologies

Polyethylene (PE):
This is a single monomer film that is developed with the addition of ethylene. PE is used in several forms of flexible packaging, including shrink and stretch films, performing differently under each application.

LDPE:
This is a ‘Low-density Polyethylene’ and is one of the most flexible types of virgin plastic resins. It is a blended form of LDPE with a better tensile strength and flexibility

  • Quality audits performed on a periodic basis to conform with CGSB standards
  • The film feature stabilizers to ensure long-lasting and strong building structures
  • Enables controlled diffusion of water vapor for building construction
  • Enhanced moisture protection for prolonged product life
  • Ultimate UV protection to protect buildings from damaging rays or extreme weather

  • Printed with CGSB logo standard
  • Film specification labels on the outside and on the inside of the sleeve
  • Help consumers achieve their sustainability goals with recyclable film
  • Can be used for a wide range of applications including insulation, carpets, and flooring
